I’m pretty sure that we all love this time of year and we’ve all been longing for it for months now… Am I right? Even before it started to get cool outside, I’m thinking July or August, I already sensed that people were ready for Fall. Now that it’s here, everywhere I look, I see pumpkins, mums, costumes, cotton. We can’t get enough of it! I am one of those Fall-lovers. I’ll admit it. I love pumpkin everything. I have had Fall-scented air fresheners in my house for weeks now. I love to curl up in my thick socks and sweatshirt and drink a hot cup of pumpkin-something. The smell of fires burning, spices, fresh cool air — it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
So far, this Fall has been super crazy busy. It always is. The months of September and October are our most popular wedding and photoshoot months. I also traveled to visit my family in Virginia, as most of you who read my blog already know. Because of that, I have gotten a little bit behind on my usual personal Fall tasks.
I usually get pumpkins, gourds, corn, and mums to decorate my front porch in late September. This year, I didn’t get them until this week. Better late than never, right? As if I didn’t have enough Fall tasks on my plate, a new task was added to my Fall Task List this year too. We have a dog now and since she is our only “child” right now, she must have a Halloween costume. Once I convinced Will to let Ellie have a Halloween costume, we’ve been going back and forth on what she should be without ever deciding. A couple of days ago, I realized that we were already in mid-October and so I just needed to make a decision.
Ellie will wear little T-shirts and sweaters just fine, but her Bumblebee costume? She hates it. No… she doesn’t just hate it, she capital H Hates it. She appears to feel embarrassed when she wears it. Because of that, I probably won’t force her to wear it anymore. Oh well.
I also got a Pumpkin sweater for Ellie. She seems like this Fall outfit much better.
Happy Fall!
